Yoga + AI
Finding my sweet spot in tech
Ever since I started writing this newsletter last year, I’ve been head-down in this space. And I’ll admit - I often feel pressure to keep up. Because even though all the tremendous innovation is thrilling, missing a few headlines or product announcements can make you feel like you’re suddenly behind overnight.
So I’ve decided to take a slower approach to leaning into and embracing the tech.
I don’t know if it’s a response to the velocity of change, but I’m becoming more disciplined about setting boundaries with screen time and going offline. So much so that I decided to jump into a 200-hour yoga teacher training last month. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve seen some bits of my yoga journey — something I initially took up three years ago to help me with anxiety. I found a studio close to home, developed a daily practice, and have continued evolving ever since.
Time on the mat feels like an opportunity to slow down and cultivate presence, even as my work in tech keeps accelerating. Yoga + AI might not seem like a natural combination, but right now they’re the perfect yin and yang of my life. And whenever I come back to the screen, my mind feels clearer, and I find I can understand the implications and power of the technology even better.
This week I want to highlight three stories that caught my eye.
1. OpenClaw Fever
The first is the explosion of OpenClaw, the open-sourced self-hosted agent platform that got absorbed by OpenAI and all of the buzz it has created this week. From OpenAI hiring its founder, to people raving about outsourcing entire workflows to agents, this open-source AI agent platform is inspiring a wave of practical uses that could genuinely change how we work and live. I’ve already set up an army of agents using Zapier for social media and have witnessed firsthand the power of agentic AI. Next up: I’m heading to The LAB Wynwood to try to build one of these agents myself. From autonomous grocery shopping to a marketing agency in a box, I really enjoyed the use cases that Allie Miller rounded up.
2. AI Video is having a moment
The next story I want to highlight is the incredible evolution of AI video, being pushed forward right now by models like Seeddance 2.0. With the short video of Brad and Tom going viral, it raised serious concerns around intellectual property. If we can harness the power of this technology for creative expansion, we also have to acknowledge it’s still the Wild West out there. Rules are yet to be written, and that’s a call to action for all of us to start agreeing on some collective norms.
3. A tactical AI tool worth trying
This week I come across a practical AI tool in Superhuman and I have to share it. Using Nano Banana in Gemini will help you create a library of assets for a product. Especially if you’re a solopreneur or founder bootstrapping your projects, this kind of tool can help build brand awareness and streamline distribution in a big way. Give it a whirl!
Here's my challenge to you: find your analog. Mine is yoga and a recent discovery of junk journaling, a craft I've loved since I was a kid hoarding stickers. In a world optimized for speed, choosing to slow down isn't falling behind. It is simply a nice break for the nervous system. The clarity I find on the mat and at the craft table is what makes everything else possible. So whatever your version of slow looks like, take it.
