Revitalizing Web3: Auctions, AI, and Artistry
From Three Arrows Capital's Liquidation to Exciting AI Travel Tools and Unmissable Web3 Collaborations
Hello friends!
I come bearing exciting news - remember the Three Arrows Capital investment firm? They ran into some hot water last year due to leveraged positions in cryptocurrencies and a misspending scandal involving a luxury yacht, among other things. Well, their much-anticipated NFT portfolio liquidation is right around the corner. It's slated for June 15th at 4pm in NYC, with the prestigious Sotheby’s handling the auction. An incredible collection of digital art pieces, including iconic generative art like Ringers #879 (The Goose), will be up for grabs. Historical masterpieces from renowned digital art collections such as Chromie Squiggle, Autoglyphs, and Cryptopunks, as well as works from top artists like Tyler Hobbs and Kjetil Gold, will be part of the lot. Many believe this event could reinvigorate the web3 space.
As summer approaches, I realize some of you, like me, might be last-minute planners. Fear not, I've taken three AI travel planning tools for a spin, feeding each the same prompt: "Plan me a 12-day trip to Istanbul this August for a family of three. We love culture, experiences, and nature. Our budget is 10k. Where should we stay? What should we do?"
Here's what I discovered:
GuideGeek: This tool uses WhatsApp for communication and impresses with its emotive intelligence. It feels like chatting with a friend, delivering detailed information and calculating costs to ensure your budget stays intact.
iPlan.ai: A mobile app that visually maps out your daily itinerary by the hour. A great pick for visual learners, but the downside is its limited selection of cities.
Google Bard: This tool trades human touch for precision and ease of use. Its direct approach and clickable recommendations make itinerary refinement a breeze.
Switching gears to the ever-colorful world of Doodles, a personal favorite of mine. The Miami-based brand recently announced a partnership with CAMP, a family experience company known for live immersive experiences. CAMP's present and upcoming engagements, including an Encanto experience in NYC and a Little Mermaid experience in Atlanta, coupled with Doodles' reputation for IRL activations, make this partnership seem like a match made in heaven. Could such experiential marketing be the next leap in retail?
Lastly, I'd like to shine a spotlight on Sarah Richardson, the gifted artist behind Holy Script, a newly minted calligraphy project on OpenSea. Richardson's work, which beautifully reimagines traditional calligraphy through 100 inspirational words, virtues, affirmations, and a mix of web3 terms and curse words, left me, an amateur calligrapher, absolutely spellbound. Apart from her artistic prowess, Richardson is a bold entrepreneur with impressive associations, including GOOP and Tiffany’s.
Richardson likens the web3 space's open, democratic nature to the early days of YouTube, affirming, "Just like anybody can create content, anybody can mint on the blockchain." Here's to the boundless potential of web3 and the creators propelling it forward!
